Tips for discovering your comfortable home
In most homes you have men and women living under the same roof.
However, Mars and Venus often don't agree on how to decorate their
homes.
Vilda Johnson, a designer at Steve Peterson Interiors, says she
takes time to get acquainted with her clients before helping them solve
design challenges.
"Sometimes a client is not sure what they want and are not even sure
what their tastes are. A good interior designer can help couples decide
a way to go that will best suit their tastes by learning about their
lifestyle," Johnson says. "Do they have children? How many? Do they
like to entertain? Do they like to collect? Read? Study? Scrapbook? Are
their tastes formal or casual? These are all important questions. By
answering them a homeowner and a good designer can create a home
perfect for their tastes."
Johnson says she finds great enjoyment when couples find their own
personal style.
Today's market offers a wide variety of options for your home. It's
possible to enjoy just the right style of house for you.
"Take time to find your style and buy quality furniture that
endures. It's better to buy one piece of furniture at a time than to
have a house full of bad furniture," Johnson says. "Have fun creating a
style unique to you."
