Great Ideas for Your Home

Decorating your home for different seasons of the year can add cheer
Fragrance. Color. Texture. These are the three main ingredients to
seasonal changes in the home.
Carole Ann Patterson, designer for Steve Peterson Interiors, says
homeowners should begin with spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and pine
to create that warm, spirited feeling in the home.
"Burgundy throws and new pillows will dress up any family room for
the season," Patterson says. "Also, replacing the dining room
centerpiece with a bowl of greenery, pine cones and fresh apples is a
good idea."
To create the correct seasonal scenes, try placing potpourri
throughout the house. Spring and summer are excellent times to use rich
fragrances, like magnolias and lemons.
Patterson recommends homeowners unpack their glass dishes and bowls
and fill them with seasonal potpourri scents. Then disperse the scented
bowls from the entry to the bathroom. "Try some of these ideas and if
all else fails, contact an experienced interior designer to assist
you," Patterson says.
