Grass and roman shades offer endless possibilities
From function to finance the sky is the limit when it comes to dressing
your windows.
"Keep it sleek and simple with a roman shade or add a grass shade
for some texture," says Holly Williams, a designer at Steve Peterson
Interiors. "Be bold and brave and layer silks, satins, and sheers."
Williams says window treatments set the mood for the room. They add
definition and softness to the structural framework of our homes.
"The trend in the privacy area has been to move away from the linear
wood blind to the softer and more textural grass shades. The roman
shade is another pleasing alternative to the wood blind. The roman
shade has clean lines. It also offers endless possibilities of fabric
allowing for amazing design and style," Williams says.
Williams also suggests homeowners use a semi opaque fabric to create
a soft transition from the inside out. "Fabric treatments are more
inviting and allow light from the inside to be seen on the outside of
the home, giving your home a pleasant glow in the evening," Williams
says.
